Are you finished having a family or still waiting for your partner to have a vasectomy? Do you want an easy, permanent method of birth control without the side effects of hormones and painful or potentially dangerous surgery? Wait no longer! There is a safe, easy procedure now available at Understanding Women.
Essure is a sterilization procedure for women performed by an Essure Accredited Practice (EAP) physician. Dr. Keri Sweeten is the first doctor in the state of Arizona to be a certified EAP physician and is committed to providing the ultimate in patient care, satisfaction, and successful outcome.
Unlike tubal ligation and vasectomy, the Essure procedure requires no incisions and can usually be performed in less than an hour with local anesthesia in the comfort of Dr. Sweeten’s state-certified facility. During the procedure micro-inserts are passed through the vagina, cervix, and uterus and placed in your fallopian tubes. These inserts work together with your body to form a tissue barrier that prevents sperm from reaching the egg. (You will need to use an alternate form of birth control for the first three months following the procedure). You will usually able to leave our office within an hour after your procedure and many women report that they were able to resume their normal physical activities that same day. |
